Sesame Street Live: Sesame Street Live has been entertaining children and their families for over twenty years now. With a new show every year and an ever revolving cast of beloved characters, Sesame Street Live has toured all over the world, year after year, to packed stadiums and arenas. The traveling stage show has no plans of stopping, as Elmo stars in the 2011 tour of shows that will be coming to a city near you.

The live touring show operates eight to ten months out of the year and includes a revolving series of performances, allowing a particular city to experience a different show every year. Each show has its own unique plot, cast of characters, sets, and original songs. Occasionally, the performances will mix in classic songs to keep the performances recognizable with the television show, as well as older popular music hits for adults. The first Sesame Street Live performance was in 1980 after a deal was struck between Jim Henson, the VEE Corporation, and Children's Television Workshop, making it the longest running stage tour for children.

The first show to be touring the country in 2011 is "Elmo Makes Music". The show follows the Sesame Street friends as they attempt to recover the lost instruments of their music teacher, Jenny. Along the way, they discover that music can be found almost anywhere, and what makes an instrument is only limited by their imaginations.

In the second show on tour, "Elmo's Green Thumb," kids learn a valuable lesson about nature, as well as the nature of patience. Elmo's sunflower, Sunny, has grown too big for its pot and is planted in Big Bird's garden. But impatient Abby Cadabby wants to see the flower fully grown and casts a spell that ends up shrinking Elmo, Abby, and their friends! In order to return to normal size, the friends will have to be patient for the spell to wear off and, along the way, will learn some lessons about nature and how plants grow.

A new kind of hero rises to power on Sesame Street in "Elmo's Healthy Heroes". After Super Grover loses his powers, Elmo and his Healthy Heroes rises to the challenge of restoring Grover's powers through healthy habits. Elmo and friends show the superhero songs and dances that teach kids lessons about exercise, nutrition, and exercise that will last the rest of their lives.

Children's imaginations will run free in "1-2-3 Imagine!" Elmo and his friends let their creativity loose when they imagine all the fun adventures they'd like to have. Kids will love watching Ernie as a ship captain, Elmo as a primal dancer in Africa, and Bert as he had adventures with an octopus deep in the ocean.

The 2011 tour schedule of Sesame Street Live will begin on May 11 and end in February of 2012. The tour will cover most of the country, so make sure to check Eventful to see when Elmo and his friends will be in your town!
